Adobe Illustrator uses the artboard to represent the focal point of its drawing space. In Illustrator CS4, users gained the ability to add multiple artboards to a document, providing a means of creating multi-page files. You can mix varying artboard sizes in a document and use them for everything from a series of logos to a set of website prototypes. Although every Illustrator file must contain at least one artboard, you can incorporate as many as 100 in a document and delete 99 of them.
1.Click the 'Window' drop-down menu and choose 'Artboards' to reveal the panel. Press 'Shift-O' to enter Artboard Edit mode.
2.Click on the artboard you want to delete. An edit box, made up of a dashed line with anchor points at its corners and midpoints, surrounds the boundaries of your selected artboard. You'll see the name and number of the artboard in the upper-left corner. In the Artboards panel, the selected artboard's name appears highlighted the way a selected layer highlights in the Layers panel.
3.Press the 'Backspace' key, click on the trash can-shaped 'Delete' button in the Control panel or click on the equivalent 'Delete' button at the bottom of the Artboards panel. Adobe Illustrator deletes the artboard but not the artwork on it.
Tips
- Double-click on the name of an artboard in the Artboards panel to display it in Fit in Window view.
- Unless you rearrange them, Illustrator displays your artboards in the order in which you add them to your document.
- Every artboard includes a Delete icon in its upper-right corner, accessible only in Artboard Edit mode.
Warning
- When you delete an artboard, the artwork on it enters an unprintable state. To regain the ability to print or export the artwork, create a new artboard and add the content to it, or move the artwork to an existing artboard.

Adobe Illustrator doesn’t work like other graphic design and editing programs. Where Photoshop, the other major component of Adobe’s Creative Suite, works with images on layers, Illustrator uses vectors -- lines and curves -- to create images. Erasing a part of an image, therefore, works differently than in other editing programs. Use Illustrator's erase and cut tools to remove parts of vectors in order to reshape your images.
1.Open an image that you want to work with in Illustrator and arrange your workspace in a way that will let you see the parts of the image that you want to remove. Use the zoom tools to frame the image accordingly: to work on a detail, zoom in tight on that area of the image; to work with the image as a whole, remain zoomed out.
2.Click on the selection tool in the top-left of the tool panel, and then select the vectors you want to work with. If you’ve created masks on your image, this will be easier for erasing parts. All of Illustrator’s tools work on the active selection, so before you can erase anything, you have to choose the parts of the image to erase. Hold down “Shift” while clicking on areas of the image to add to the selection, press “Ctrl,” and then click on an area to remove it from the selection.
3.
Select the standard eraser tool on the tool panel. Click and hold on the eraser to select either the scissors or knife tool, which cut or slice out whole areas of an image. The eraser is a free-drawing tool that gives you manual control over what to erase and remove.
4.Double-click on the tool properties along the top bar of Illustrator to adjust the width and angle of the eraser tool. Click and drag the arrow in the tool preview to change the angle, and drag along the slider bar to change the diameter of the tool. Adjust the width and angle to suit your image.
5.Click and hold anywhere over your image and drag the eraser tool to start erasing. A white area indicates the changes you’re making. Release the mouse button to apply the change to the area, cutting the vectors where you’ve drawn. Press and hold “Alt” while dragging to create a rectangular shape that cuts in a straight line. Double-click to apply the transformation. Repeat this until the image and your objects match what you want to see.
Warning
- These steps apply to Adobe Illustrator CS6. They may vary slightly or substantially in other versions of the software.

The Adobe Illustrator CS5 Perspective Grid tool displays a grid over the active image, enabling you to create a 3-D graphic. If you have enabled the Perspective Grid tool and you don’t know how to turn it off, take heart: you can toggle the feature off and on using three different methods. Toggle Perspective Grid on and off from the View menu, by pressing a combination of keyboard keys or by clicking an icon in the Tools panel.
Step 1
Open Adobe Illustrator CS5 and click the “View” option in the top navigation menu to display the View menu. Click the “Perspective Grid” option in the View menu. Click the “Hide Grid” option. The grid disappears from view and the Hide Grid option changes to Show Grid. Click 'Show Grid' to redisplay the grid.
Step 2
Pearl harbor 2001 directors cut.720p. Press the “Ctrl-Shift-I” to toggle the Perspective Grid feature off. Press the key combination again to turn the feature back on.
Click the Perspective Grid tool icon in the Tools panel to toggle the Perspecive Grid on and off.
Tip
- Press “Shift-V” to move an object inside the perspective grid to maintain perspective.
